Researchers at the Rochester Institute of Technology are developing a “high-speed Internet lane” they hope will ease the flow of information during disasters and prevent the congestion that can delay transmission of key data quickly. Multi-Node Label Routing protocol boasts a failover mechanism that chooses an alternate path if a failure of a link or node is detected. The new protocol can run below existing protocols and run without disruption.
